These provisions ensure the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria effectively serves as a central hub for training, development, and research in Nigeria’s power sector. It fosters capacity building, compliance with technical standards, effective training management and certification.<\/h4>\n\n\n<h4>The following are the highlights of the 23 sections:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n <hr>\n\t<br>\n<div><h4>\n\n<b>Establishment and Structure<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Creation:<\/b> The National Power Training Institute of Nigeria is established as a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal. It can sue and be sued and manage property.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<b>Functions of the Institute<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Human Resources Development:<\/b> Acts as a hub for workforce capacity building and a research center.<\/li>\n<li><b>Training Programs:<\/b> Offers engineering, technical, and other training programs in collaboration with local and foreign institutions.<\/li>\n<li><b>Capacity Building:<\/b> Assists in formulating and implementing pilot projects, ensuring technical standards and compliance.<\/li>\n<li><b>Learning Solutions:<\/b> Provides customer-focused learning and development solutions.<\/li>\n<li><b>Skills Framework:<\/b> Develops frameworks for key skills, knowledge, and behaviors for high-performing industries.<\/li>\n<li><b>Maintenance Training:<\/b>Designs maintenance training programs for industry efficiency.<\/li>\n<li><b>Professional Programs:<\/b> Develops certificate programs, management, leadership, and ICT skills for global recognition.<\/li>\n<li><b>Consultancy Services:<\/b> Undertakes project consultancies for power sector companies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br>\n\n<b>Powers of the Institute<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Contracts:<\/b> Enter into necessary contracts.<\/li>\n<li><b>Insurance:<\/b> Insure its property against risks.<\/li>\n<li><b>Training Centers:<\/b>Establish training centers and gender units.<\/li>\n<li><b>Fund Management:<\/b> Manage the Power Training Fund and other funds.<\/li>\n<li><b>Advisory Role:<\/b> Advise the Federal Government on manpower training in the power sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br>\n\n<b>Governing Council<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Composition:<\/b> Includes a Chairman, Director-General, and representatives from various ministries and stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li><b>Responsibilities:<\/b> Manages the Institute’s affairs, property, and finances.<\/li>\n<li><b>Term:<\/b> Members serve a four-year term, renewable once.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br>\n\n<b>Director-General<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Appointment:<\/b> Appointed by the President.\n<\/li><li><b>Responsibilities:<\/b> Administrative head and chief accounting officer of the Institute.<\/li>\n<li><b>Experience:<\/b> Must have at least 15 years of relevant professional experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br>\n\n<b>Legal Adviser<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Role:<\/b>Serves as Secretary to the Council, attends meetings, manages correspondences, and keeps records.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br>\n\n<b>Academic Board<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Functions:<\/b><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage academic activities.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and update training curricula.<\/li>\n<li>Manage exams, issue results and certificates.<\/li>\n<li>Handle admissions and academic research review.<\/li>\n<li>Provide quality reports and undertake additional duties assigned by the Council.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li><b>Composition:<\/b><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Chaired by the Director-General.<\/li>\n<li>Includes Heads of Directorates, Legal Adviser, Head of ICT, and appointed officers.<\/li>\n<li>Can co-opt members without voting rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li><b>Student Discipline:<\/b><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Recommend suspension or expulsion, subject to Director-General’s approval and Council ratification.<\/li>\n<li>Students have the right to defend themselves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<br>\n\n<b>Financial Management<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Statements and Audits:<\/b><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare annual statements of income, expenditure, assets, and liabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Independent auditors to publish reports within nine months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li><b>Revenue and Expenditure Estimates:<\/b><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare estimates for the upcoming financial year for Council and Minister approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li><b>Annual Reports:<\/b><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit annual activity reports and audited accounts to the Minister by 30 June.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n\n<b>Institute’s Fund<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Sources:<\/b><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Training fees, budgetary appropriations, consultancy revenue, grants, donations, and legacies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<li><b>Management:<\/b><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Sums received to be deposited in approved bank accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Donations to be used for specific purposes only with approved
